COVID-19 fatalities continue to rise with 124 deaths confirmed on Tuesday

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 fatalities continue to rise with the Director General of Health Services confirming 124 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday.

Daily COVID-19 fatalities have exceeded 100 for three consecutive days, with 111 deaths confirmed on Sunday and 118 deaths confirmed on Monday.

The COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Tuesday include 95 persons over the age of 60, 28 persons between ages 30 and 59, and one person below the age of 30. The Epidemiology Unit states that 75.36% of the total fatalities are above age 60, 23.5% are between ages 30 and 59, and 1.14% are below age 30.

Seventy-five fatalities confirmed on Tuesday are male and 49 are female. Of the total fatalities, 3,179 are male and 2,285 are female.

A total of 5,464 COVID-19 fatalities have been confirmed to date.
