A COVID-19-related death that occurred on Saturday brought the country’s COVID-19 fatalities to 618.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Government Information, the individual was 52-years-old and lived in Pitabeddara. He tested positive for COVID-19 at the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital and was transferred to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.
However, on Saturday, he died of COVID pneumonia and acute leukaemia.
