COVID-19 recoveries reach 63

The number of COVID-19 people who have been discharged after recovery reached 63 today.

Meanwhile, confirmed cases in the country has risen to 233, with 15 new cases recorded in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. today.

While four persons are under investigation, the total cases include 37 from quarantine centres and three foreigners. In addition to this, 47 are from the Colombo District, 45 from Kalutara, 35 from Puttalam, and 26 from Gampaha.

According to the latest situation report by the Epidemiology Unit, there are currently 163 active cases in the country, including eight in the process of being sent to a treatment facility. Of the remaining cases, 86 are at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), 33 are at the Welikanda Base Hospital, 27 are at the Colombo East Base Hospital, and nine are at the Iranawila Hospital. Three recoveries from the NIID and one from the Colombo East Base Hospital recoveries were also recorded within the 24-hour period and this brings the total number of recoveries in Sri Lanka to 63.

There are also 144 persons currently hospitalised due to suspicions of COVID-19. This includes 32 at the Sri Jayewardenepura Teaching Hospital, 19 at the Welikanda Base Hospital, and 17 at the Ragama Teaching Hospital.
