CWC leader offered minister post, may join Govt.

Chairman of the Ceylon Workers Congress and Nuwara Eliya District MP Arumugam Thondaman stated that he had received invitations from the President and the Government to join the Government and obtain a Cabinet ministerial portfolio.

Thondaman claimed this while addressing the media following a discussion with the Hatton business community and urban councilors about future development work in the area under the Hatton Dikoya Urban Council.

Expressing his views, the CWC leader said he did not go to Colombo today because he participated in a ceremony held at the CWC headquarters in Kotagala to commemorate May Day. The MP said he plans to leave for Colombo this afternoon and will make a decision regarding the Cabinet portfolio. (Colombopage)
