Cabinet nod to pay Rs. 100,000 to close relative of missing person

Cabinet has approved a proposal by Justice Minister Ali Sabry to make a one-off payment of Rs. 100,000 to the closest relative in the family of a missing person who possesses a certification of the missing person issued by the office of the Registrar General.

The proposal said policies have been formulated to assist in rehabilitation of individuals affected by grievances under various situations/circumstances and this payment is part of that process and in keeping with the compensation policies and guidelines.

The payment is in keeping with terms of the Office of Missing Persons Act.
