Cabinet nod to submit status of Budget 2022 to Parliament

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Finance, Economic Stabilisation and National Policies to table the situation report on the 2022 Budget in Parliament.

In terms of provisions of section 13 of Fiscal Management (Responsibility) Act No 3 of 2003, the Minister in charge of Finance may issue the final situation report on the budget before exceeding five months from the relevant financial year the public whereas, table the same before the Parliament subsequently. 

The situation report on the Budget 2022 has been published on the website of the Finance, Economic Stabilisation and National Policies Ministry.
