Celebrating SL-Russia people-to-people ties

President’s Advisor for International Affairs and former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Dr. Saman Weerasinghe spoke at the solemn New Year celebration event dedicated to people-to-people diplomacy, organised by the Russian Foreign Ministry jointly with Rossotrudnichestvo. Weerasinghe said that in Sri Lanka, Russia is approached as a long-standing and reliable partner. He also noted that the Sri Lanka-Russia Friendship Society is the main Sri Lankan organisation actively supporting the development of a bilateral relationship in the sphere of people-to-people diplomacy.
