Chinese Foreign Minister makes transit stop in Sri Lanka

Chinese Foreign Minister and CPC Central Committee Political Bureau Member Wang Yi arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday evening for a transit stop en route to Namibia.

The 18-member Chinese delegation was warmly received by Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong, Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (AASL) Chairman (Retd.) Air Chief Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, and AASL Vice Chairman Cyril Wannigama.

The delegation’s flight departed from the BIA at 4:23 p.m. following the brief stopover.
