Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui meets with outgoing Sri Lankan Ambassador

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui met with outgoing Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Karunasena Kodituwakku on 30 December 2019, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

During the meeting Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui remarked that China and Sri Lanka enjoy traditional friendship, with fruitful outcomes from practical cooperation.

The Foreign Minister emphasised that both sides should intensify coordination, enhance high-level exchanges, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative to constantly bring benefits to the two countries and the two peoples.

The Sri Lankan envoy has thanked the Chinese side for offering support and assistance for his fulfilment of duty, and expressed that the friendship with China is the consensus of all sectors in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan side appreciates the Chinese side’s help for Sri Lanka’s economic and social development and is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in all areas and push for constant and new progress in bilateral relations, Ambassador Kodituwakku has noted.
