Colombo 14 Grama Niladhari Division isolated

The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of the COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated the 233 Watte, Mahawatte Road, and Colombo 14 Grama Niladhari (GN) Division in the Grandpass Police Division was placed under isolation at 7.30 a.m. yesterday.

Five GN Divisions in the Batticaloa and Kattankudy Police Divisions were also placed under isolation yesterday.

The NOCPCO stated that 35 GN Divisions and areas in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Nuwara Eliya, Vavuniya, and Matale Districts have been released from isolation.

The areas include Nampamunuwa, Gorakapitiya, Mawiththara North, Palenwatte West, and Palenwatte East GN Divisions in the Piliyandala Police Division, Willorawatte GN Division in the Moratumulla Police Division, and the Arawwala and Pamunuwa GN Divisions in the Maharagama Police Division.

Several GN Divisions in the Katana, Wattala, and Mahara Police Divisions in the Gampaha District and the Moragahahena, Horana, Matugama, Panadura South, Baduraliya, and Agalawatte Police Division in the Kalutara District have also been released from isolation.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana yesterday said 137 persons were arrested following a special operation carried out in the Western Province on Wednesday to check if face masks are being worn by the public.

“In the last 24 hours, 493 persons who violated quarantine regulations were arrested,” he added.
