The Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Day celebrations will be held in Colombo on 10 March at the Galle Face Green.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been briefed by the Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Sabry on preparations in progress for the upcoming celebration under the theme ‘A Sustainable Indian Ocean for Future Generations’.
One of the notable features of this year’s celebration is the inclusion of a significant number of school students from all provinces of Sri Lanka.
The IORA Day celebration aims to highlight the importance of sustainability and environmental stewardship in the Indian Ocean region. With the participation of diplomatic missions from member countries and partner States, as well as representatives from various sectors, the event seeks to foster dialogue and cooperation towards addressing common challenges and promoting sustainable development.
