Committee on High Posts approves 2 new Ministry Secretaries, six Chairpersons

The Committee on High Posts approved the appointments of two ministry secretaries and six chairpersons of state institutions recently.

It approved the appointment of Yamuna Perera as the new secretary of the Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment and R.M.W.S. Samaradivakara as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development.

In addition the Committee on High Posts also approved the appointment of Sujeewa Rajapaksa as the Chairman of the People’s Bank.

Furthermore, the appointments of Prof. S.R.D. Rosa as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board, Ratnasiri Kalupahana as the Chairman of the State Engineering Corporation of Sri Lanka, Eng. A. Galketiya as the Chairman of the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB), Stella Marapana as the Chairperson of the Public Performance Board and Jayantha Wijeratne as the Chairman of the National Aquaculture Development Authority have been approved by the Committee on High Posts.

The Committee on High Posts met under the chairmanship of the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and Members of Parliament John Senaviratne, Talatha Athukorala, Udaya Gammanpila, Sudarshanee Fernandopulle and Dharmalingam Siddharthan were present.
