Constitutional Council approves Dappula de Livera as Attorney General

The Constitutional Council has unanimously approved the Acting Attorney General Dappula de Livera as the Attorney General of Sri Lanka.

The Constitutional Council convened at the parliamentary complex on Tuesday under the leadership of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

The Speaker’s Media Unit stated that the approval to appoint de Livera as the Attorney General was granted at the meeting.

The President appointed Solicitor General Dappula De Livera as Acting Attorney General on 29 April following the appointment of Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya as the Chief Justice.
