Court bans foreign travel for six activists

The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday issued an overseas travel ban on six civil activists on charges of damaging public property during a protest on 9th June opposite the Police Headquarters.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has imposed a foreign travel ban on the convener of the Inter-University Student Federation Wasantha Mudalige, Ceylon Teachers’ Union General Secretary Joseph Stalin, Rangana Lakmal, Lahiru Weerasekera, Eranga Gunasekera and Father Jeewantha Peiris.

Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage issued the order considering a request made by the Fort Police.
