Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday directed to temporarily prohibit State Minister Diana Gamage from travelling overseas.
The directive was issued when the petition filed by activist Oshala Herath was taken up for consideration yesterday following which Colombo Chief Magistrate Nandana Amarasinghe issued the overseas travel ban till 17 November 2022.
The petition was filed putting into question State Minister Gamage’s identification including her passport, birth certificate, and the National Identity Card.
On Thursday, Magistrate Amarasinghe ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to expedite investigations and to report the progress on the complaint filed requesting an investigation into the birth certificate, NIC, and passport of State Minister Diana Gamage.
The Magistrate issued the order after considering facts tabled by the CID.The case was ordered to be taken up on 15 December.
