Court rejects Udayanga’s appeal to remove arrest warrant

The Fort Magistrate’s Court has rejected an appeal made by Sri Lanka’s former Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga to withdraw the arrest warrant issued against him.

Weeratunga submitted the appeal through his lawyers. The warrant was issued over ongoing investigations into the MiG deal.

Weeratunga claims he is in Ukraine and has refused to support any investigations against him. (Colombo Gazette)
