Sri Lanka Customs yesterday seized a stock of 10.5 kilos of heroin worth Rs. 270 million.
The heroin was discovered as a result of a combined investigation by the Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Unit and the Katunayake Air Cargo Terminal Customs Office.
The stock smuggled from Lahore, Pakistan was addressed to a businessman in Thihariya. The supply was discovered at the Katunayake air cargo facility, bundled in many bath towels.
Two suspects who arrived at the Customs office to clear the items were apprehended. The stock of heroin and the suspects were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further investigation.
