Deadline to apply for undergraduate scholarships in India extended

India has extended the deadline for applications for two undergraduate scholarships schemes for Sri Lankan students.

The Indian High Commission said the last date for applying for the Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme (which covers all undergraduate courses including engineering, science, business, economics, commerce, humanities and arts, except medical/paramedical and fashion design courses) and Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme (which covers undergraduate courses in the field of information technology leading to a B.E. or B.Tech. degree provided by the Government of India) has been extended to 6 January. The students who could not apply before the previous deadline of 16 December 2019 may do so before the fresh deadline.

The necessary details are available in the website of Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation at www.mohe.gov.lk. The last date for submission of applications for the above courses at Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation is extended till 6 January.

Prospective students are advised to approach the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation or the High Commission of India, Colombo to learn more about the eligibility criteria and selection procedure.
