Development Strategies and International Trade Ministry says ETCA feasibility was done

The Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade has issued the following statement:

We refer to the news item appeared in Daily FT on Tuesday 2 January 2018, under the title “Professionals’ National Front claims Govt. failed to conduct feasibility study on ETCA”.

This is to bring it to your kind notice that it is incorrect to say that a feasibility study of ETCA had not been conducted as yet.

A feasibility study was undertaken and prepared by the Institute of Policy Studies comprising a research team of Dr. Ravi Ratnayake, the late Dr. Saman Kelegama, Prof. Selim Raihan, Dr. Janaka Wijayasiri at the request of the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade.
