Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena yesterday expressed heartfelt congratulations to Pushpa Kamal

Dahal on being appointed as the Prime Minister of Nepal.

“As close South Asian neighbours with deep friendship and close ties, Sri Lanka and Nepal are committed to work together to overcome current challenges faced by our two countries and explore new opportunities for cooperation,” Gunawardena said in a letter to Dahal.

“I look forward to continuously work with you to further promote the strong, longstanding bilateral ties that are built on the foundation of shared religious and democratic values,” he added.
