Gayantha named Chief Opp. Whip

Sajith to be named Opp. Leader today

Minister Dinesh Gunawardena was nominated as Leader of the House, and Minister Johnston Fernando as Chief Government Whip, by the UPFA yesterday.

Meanwhile, Galle District MP Gayantha Karunatileka was named as the Chief Opposition Whip, while three MPs, namely Ajith Perera, J.C. Alawathuwala, and Ranjith Aluvihare, were named as Deputy Whips by the UNP.

The nominations came yesterday, as Parliament begins the new session after prorogation today.

UNP MP Sajith Premadasa will be named Leader of the Opposition today as well.
