Dock system in courts to be reformed: Justice Minister

Justice Minister Dr Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe yesterday announced that he would take steps to reform the dock system in courts where witnesses are expected to provide evidence by getting into a dock. “A system allowing witnesses to give evidence in a dignified manner will be implemented within a year,” he assured.

The Minister additionally declared his intention to reform the dock system in courts, where witnesses are traditionally expected to provide evidence. He assured that a new system enabling witnesses to give evidence in a dignified manner would be implemented within a year.
