Dr. Jasinghe meets Japan’s State Environment Minister; discusses Joint Crediting Mechanism

Environment Ministry Secretary Dr. Anil Jasinghe recently met with Japan’s Vice Minister of Environment Ono Hiroshi in Tokyo. The duo discussed the possibilities of supporting Sri Lanka through Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) for which Sri Lanka and Japan signed in October 2022 in Colombo. Discussions also focussed on cooperation of two countries in the wide ranging topics of environment. The JCM is the mechanism developed by Japan on cooperating with other countries based on the United Nations Framework on Climate Change Convention.
