The Dubai court said that a judgment on whether to deport notorious Sri Lankan underworld leader Makandure Madush to Sri Lanka will be given on 2 May.

The Dubai court yesterday considered an appeal filed by Makandure Madush, who was under custody in Dubai following his arrest on 5 February, requesting the court not to deport him to Sri Lanka, where he is wanted for several serious crimes, including murders.
The Dubai court has stated that a ruling will be issued on 2 May.
Meanwhile, two more suspects, who were arrested in Dubai along with the underworld leader Makandure Madush, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake yesterday on SriLankan Airlines flight UL 226, after they were deported from Dubai the previous night.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the two suspects, Piyal Pushpakumara and Mohamed Afrid Inham, at the Katunayake Airport for further investigations.
Meanwhile, Gayan Buddhima Perera, who was among six suspects deported earlier and arrested by the CID when they arrived in Sri Lanka on Wednesday, has been handed over to the Colombo Crime Division (CCD).
Another suspect, Nilan Romesh Samarasinghe, a cousin of Madush, was produced before the Negombo Magistrate Court yesterday and remanded till 22 April.
The court has allowed the CID to detain the other suspects for further interrogations.
