EC extends deadline for postal voting applications

The deadline for submitting postal voting applications, originally set to expire at midnight today, has been extended, the Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake said yesterday. Voters now have until 12 midnight on Friday, 9 August to submit their applications.  This extension comes in response to concerns over potential postal delays and numerous public requests for additional time.
