Eight skilled counsellors recruited to rehabilitate drug addicts

Ministry Secretary V. Sivagnanasothy granting appointments to skilled counsellors

The Bureau of the Commissioner General Rehabilitation under the purview of the Ministry of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs conducts programs to rehabilitate drug addicts and socially reintegrate them as successful citizens. 

At an event conducted under the patronage of Secretary to the Ministry of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs V.Sivagnanasothy on 10 July, appointments were granted to eight skilled counsellors recruited for the counselling servicefor drug addictsin order to make this work more successful. This process was initiated in early 2019. The gathering included the Additional Secretary S.Senthilnandanan, Deputy Director of the Bureau of the Commissioner General Rehabilitation Brigadier Darshana Liyanage, Chief Accountant S.Pirashanthan, Director (Institutional Development) S.Jalatheepan, Brigadier AsadIzadin and Brigadier Thillakaratne.
