P.M.S. Charles, one of the members of the Election Commission, tendered her resignation letter to President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday.
No reasons were shared for the resignation but analysts said the move was politically influenced.
Others members of the Commission are Chairman Nimal G. Punchihewa, S.B. Divaratne, M.M. Mohamed and K.P.P. Pathirana.
