Envoys from Middle East, China and India call on President

Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the Middle East, China and India called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The meeting between the President and the Envoys took place at the President’s House, Colombo.

President Rajapaksa briefed the Ambassadors and High Commissioners on the current economic, social, and political situation in Sri Lanka. 

President Rajapaksa requested the diplomats to extend all possible assistance for Sri Lanka in resolving the existing situation. He also expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by those countries so far.

Representing Middle Eastern countries Oman’s Ambassador in Colombo Juma Hamdan Hassan Al Shehhi, Palestine Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Hamdallah Zaid, Kuwait Ambassador Khalaf Bu Dhhair, the State of Qatar Ambassador Jassim bin Jaber Al Sorour, Egyptian Ambassador Maged Mosleh, United Arab Emirates Ambassador Khaled Nasser Al – Ameri, State of Libya Ambassador Nasser Alfurjani, Embassy of Saudi Arabia Chargé d’Affaires Abdulelah A.A. Orkobi, , Embassy of Iraq Chargé d’Affaires Mohammed Obaid Jebur Al Maswadi, Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong, Embassy of China Head of Political Section Luo Chong and Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay met with the President.
