Eran steps down

United National Party (UNP) MPs Eran Wickramaratne resigned from his portfolio of State Minister of Finance.

Wickramaratne took to Twitter, announcing his resignation. He thanked all those who voted for NDF candidate Sajith Premadasa and congratulated newly-appointed President Rajapaksa.

“I wish President Gotabaya Rajapaksa discernment and wisdom in uniting our people and leading forward together,” he tweeted.
