Establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Saint Lucia

Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Dr. Amrith Rohan Perera and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of St. Lucia to the United Nations Cosmos Richardson, with the signed copies of the agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and St. Lucia

Upon the signing of the agreement by Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Dr. Amrith Rohan Perera and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Saint Lucia to the United Nations Cosmos Richardson on 25 June in New York, the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of Saint Lucia decided to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries with effect from 25 June.

The establishment of diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Saint Lucia would enhance the existing friendly relations and cooperation in the political, socio-economic and cultural fields for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
