Five COVID-19 fatalities confirmed

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 16,436 following the confirmation of five COVID-19 fatalities on Sunday.

The COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Sunday include three persons over 60 years and two persons between 30 and 59 years. Zero COVID-19 deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.3% of the total COVID-19 deaths are over 60 years, 22.38% are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.31% are below 30 years.

Of the total COVID-19 deaths, 9,268 are male and 7,168 are female. Three COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Sunday were female and two were male.
