Five COVID-19 fatalities confirmed

Health officials confirmed five COVID-19 fatalities on Saturday and the country’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 16,459.

Three COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday were over 60 years and two COVID-19 fatalities were between 30 and 59 years. Zero COVID-19 deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group on Saturday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.28% of the total COVID-19 fatalities are over 60 years, 22.41% are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.31% are below 30 years.

A total of 9,283 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed to date are male and 7,176 are female. Four COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday were male and one was female.
