Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka was grilled for four hours by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday over the abduction of journalist Keith Noyahr.
It was the second time the former Army Commander gave a statement to the CID over the case.
The CID has already recorded statements from former president Mahinda Rajapaksa and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
The CID has informed the Court that statements need to be recorded again from the former defense secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa for the necessary clarifications.
The CID in May this year informed the Magistrate that according to investigations carried out until May 2018, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka had no connection with the abduction of Noyahr.
Noyahr, the former defense writer and the Associate Editor of English weekly The Nation, was abducted by unidentified men on 22 May 2008. He was found a day later badly beaten and with head injuries. Noyahr left the country following the attack.
