Former Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) DIG Nalaka Silva was questioned yesterday for over nine hours by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection to an alleged plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
Former DIG Nalaka Silva arrived at the CID at 9 a.m. and left the premises at 6.30 p.m., Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara told DailyFT. “DIG Nalaka Silva will be summoned to CID for further questioning but the date is yet to be fixed,” he added.
Former DIG Nalaka Silva was questioned by the CID last Thursday for over nine hours and returned on Friday.
Anti-Corruption Force Operation Director Namal Kumara had revealed a recorded telephone conversation last month, claiming that Former DIG Nalaka Silva was involved in an alleged plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
