Former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed had talks with Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake in Colombo.
Nasheed tweeted that among the matters they discussed was the merits of a low carbon development strategy.
“Privileged to meet @Rosy_Senanayake, Mayor of Colombo. Colombo now hosts the second largest population of Maldivians. Discussed long standing historical, commercial and cultural ties between the Maldives and Sri Lanka and the merits of a low carbon development strategy,” Nasheed tweeted.
Nasheed lives in exile in the UK and Sri Lanka, as he is wanted in the Maldives over a crime he says he did not commit. (Colombo Gazette)
