Four COVID-19 fatalities confirmed

Health officials confirmed four COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday and Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 16,477.

Two COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were from the over-60 age group and two were from the 30 to 59 age group. Zero COVID-19 deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group on Wednesday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.28% of the total COVID-19 deaths are over 60 years, 22.41% are between 30 and 59 years and 1.32% are below 30 years.

Three COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were male and a total of 9,297 COVID-19 deaths confirmed to date are male. One COVID-19 death confirmed on Wednesday was female and 7,180 COVID-19 deaths confirmed to date are female.
