German envoy impressed with peaceful protests in SL

German Ambassador Holger Seubert yesterday said that he was impressed with how peaceful the people of Sri Lanka are in exercising their right to freedom of expression, whilst noting it reminds him of German reunification in 1989.

“I am impressed with how peaceful the proud people of Sri Lanka are exercising their right to freedom of expression. It reminds me of German reunification back in 1989 when we experienced how powerful peaceful protests can be,” he tweeted yesterday.

In addition, the German Ambassador wished all parties involved the strength to remain peaceful.
