The Government Information Department, Health Promotion Bureau, together with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) have kick-started a campaign to encourage Sri Lankans to #StayHome, take the #7DayChallenge, and support the nation to curb COVID-19.

The organisers said the holiday season would prompt people to go out and gather with extended family and friends, increasing the spread of COVID-19. “We are seeking the support of your media agency to take the campaign forward and encourage people to stay home by posting on your digital portals and social media. Influencers, such as Namal Rajapaksa, Bathiya, Dinakshie, are taking the challenge as well,” the WFP said today in a statement.

How to do it: Post the below message with the attached images or gif on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, tag five influencers, and @WFPSriLanka,

@GovernmentInformationDepartment, Health Promotion Bureau [@HPBSriLanka]. Continue with posting the daily challenges: #StayHome and take on the #7DayChallenge. Let’s do our bit to help #SriLanka fight #COVID19. Nominating [tag five friends] to join me.

Participants can post the challenge for the day and ask all their followers to take on the challenge with them – they can also ask them to nominate their friends to participate.
