Govt. announces relief package of goods via Sathosa for public

A special relief package of goods via Sathosa for the upcoming festive season was launched by the Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena on Saturday.

“Through Sathosa we are providing these packages under Rs. 2,000 and are planning to deliver these items to homes,” the Minister said.

The special relief pack includes 10 kg of samba rice, 2 kg of brown sugar, 1 packet of noodles, a 100 g packet of tea, 250 g of dried sprats, 2 bars of soap and 1 packet of papadam.

The Trade Minister pointed out that the same goods are priced at Rs. 2,751 at one retail outlet and priced at Rs. 2,489 at another, adding that this will help eliminate the concern that these items were not available in Sathosa as well.

The public can order this relief pack by calling 1998 and Sathosa had made arrangements for the distribution to begin from today.

The Minister also said that it is also possible to order the relevant relief package through a WhatsApp message to 0115 201 998 as well.
