Govt. declares Monday a public holiday 

The Government yesterday announced 2 May as a public holiday.  

Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government Ministry Secretary J.J. Rathnasiri said the relevant circular will be issued in the immediate future. Rathnasiri said the decision was reached considering a four-day long weekend with Ramadan being commemorated on 3 May.
