Govt. issues circular on 60-year retirement age for State workers

The Government yesterday issued the circular enforcing the decision to reduce the retirement age of public sector workers to 60 years. 

The circular was issued by the Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government Ministry following the 2022 Interim Budget proposal.

“The retirement age of State sector workers will come down to 60 years. However, the regulation will not apply to certain specific and essential services categories,” said Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Ministry Secretary M.M.P.K. Mayadunne.
