Govt. to study MCC deal first before taking final decision: President

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday said that the Government has decided to study the US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact agreement with Sri Lanka agreed to by the previous regime.

He said that a thorough study of its benefits and threats will be made before taking a final decision whether to review or abandon. He said SLPP objected to it as a party hence a review of the $ 485 million MCC Compact was required.
