Govt. unveils indigenous medicines to boost immunity

The Ministry of Indigenous Medicine has developed several drugs to boost the immunity of the public and make them less vulnerable to contracting COVID-19, State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health Sisira Jayakody said yesterday.The Minister said that the Department of Ayurveda and the Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation had jointly introduced a drink and a powder to improve immunity.

The Minister said that all these medicines had been manufactured using 100% local herbs and were named ‘Sadanga Panaya’ and ‘Suwadharani Immunising Drink’.

A package of the medicine was presented to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena in Parliament yesterday and will be launched to the market on 12 October.
