The United National Party (UNP) made key appointments for its upcoming election campaign at a meeting held at Sirikotha on Sunday.
At the meeting chaired by Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, several key positions were filled to strengthen the party’s election strategy.
Harin Fernando was appointed as the National Election organiser while Ravi Karunanayake was named the National Secretary, and Ronald Perera will serve as the Deputy General Secretary of elections. In other notable appointments, Firdouse Farook was made the party’s Treasurer Misbah Sattar was appointed Deputy Chairman, and Krishan Theodore was named Deputy General Secretary. The working committee also confirmed that several senior members will continue in their current roles. Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijayawardena, General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara, Chairman Wajira Abeywardena, National Organiser Sagala Ratnayaka, and Deputy Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam will maintain their existing positions within the party.
These appointments come as the UNP prepares for a vigorous election campaign, aiming to consolidate its position and garner widespread support.
