Close monitoring of the implementation of health guidelines is vital as the country reopens in order to prevent further spread of COVID-19, the Special Committee on COVID-19 Control yesterday stated.

At a meeting held virtually, the committee stressed that public gatherings will take place as restrictions are relaxed, which is why respective sectors must ensure health guidelines are being adhered to. Health guidelines have been issued on the summoning of public and private sector employees as well as the use of public transport. The Transport Ministry is also making arrangements to increase the number of buses and trains based on passenger requirement.In addition to this, the committee discussed at length the health measures required for the tourism and economic sectors.
