Health officials confirm 25 COVID-19 fatalities

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll neared 16,000 following the confirmation of 25 COVID-19 fatalities on Saturday.

According to health officials, a total of 15,994 COVID-19 deaths have been confirmed in the country to date.

Of this, 76.23% are over 60 years, 22.47% are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.3% are below 30 years.

13 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday were from the over-60 age group and 12 were from the 30 to 59 age group. Zero COVID-19 fatalities were confirmed from the under-30 age group on Saturday.

17 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday were female and eight were male. Of the total COVID-19 deaths, 9,014 are male and 6,980 are female.
