Health officials confirm one COVID-19 death

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 16,500 following the confirmation of one COVID-19 death on Thursday.

The COVID-19 death confirmed on Thursday was from the over-60 age group. According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.28% of the total COVID-19 fatalities are over 60, 22.4% are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.32% are below 30 years.

A total of 9,313 COVID-19 deaths confirmed to date are male and 7,187 deaths are female. The COVID-19 death confirmed on Thursday was male.
