Human Rights Commission to hear complaints today on LPG expositions

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) will today hear two complaints seeking an inquiry into the negligence of Government agencies in the LPG-linked incidents and the disclosure of the packaging date and contents of the cylinder as in other products.

The HRCSL has summoned the Director-General of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), the Director-General of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) and the Secretary to the State Ministry of Consumer Protection to appear before the commission at 11.00 a.m. today.

The complaint was lodged by the Sri Lanka Association of Young Journalists, and MediaLK.com Editor-in-Chief Tharindu Jayawardena.
