Illicit brew kills 9 in Gampaha

Nine people died and 15 others were hospitalised after consuming illicit liquor in Gampaha, Baduragoda yesterday. 

Attanagalle Magistrate remanded the owner of the Pallewela lethal illicit liquor brewery and another person till 7 August. Area Police OIC is also under investigation, according to the Police spokesman.
