Imported rice via Sathosa

The Government has decided to release the stocks of imported rice issued so far only to Lanka Sathosa to all supermarket chains within the next week until the end of the stock. The decision was taken following a discussion between Trade and Samurdhi Development Minister Shehan Semasinghe and representatives of the supermarket chain.

Consumers can buy a maximum of 5 kg of rice at the maximum retail price of Rs. 145 for a kilo of Nadu rice and Rs. 175 for a kilo of Samba rice.
